why do girls look aged in sarees, and young in other dresses?

November 17th, 2009 | by admin |

i have seen indian girls look quite mature and aged while in sarees, but the same girls look quite young while in other dresses like western clothes etc.
is it true, or is it just my perception.

When girls do wear saris, they usually lather on lots of makeup to give themselves a more mature look because they’re wearing something that makes them look sophisticated, which is why they look older.
I’m sure any woman who puts on a frilly dress and ties her hair in two ponytails will look a lot younger.
It’s not just your perception; it’s psychology.

Saris are mostly meant for woman, not girls, so when girls wear them, it gives them age.

It’s true. Sarees are meant for women but not for girls. So, when girls put on a saree they look a little matured.

It is our mentality. A sixteen year old girl wearing sari will look like a sixteen year old and not older.
It is just our minds that are trained to see older ladies wearing sarees. Hence we relate the two together.
