1) 17 December 1399 - Timur the Great,Khan of the Jagatai Mongols and Il Khan of Persia, invaded the Sultanate of Delhi with the aim of plundering Delhi itself of its riches.Mahmud Tughluk, Sultan of Delhi, offered battle at Panipat.

2) 21 April 1526 -  the Timurid emperor Babur invaded the Lodi Sultanate of Delhi with the objective of permanent occupation and conquest.

3) 5 November 1556 - Akbar had become Mughal emperor earlier in the year, but was only 13.A senior official, Hemu, decided to seize the empire for himself.Supporters of the 2 forces met at Panipat, following Hemu&#039;s occupation o f Delhi.

4) 14 January 1761 - an alliance of Afghan tribes attempted to halt further territorial expansion of the Maratha Confederation, which was supported by the French.&lt;br&gt;&lt;b&gt;References : &lt;/b&gt;&lt;br&gt;</description>
