How long will it take in a taxi from Mumbai Interntional Airport to CST train station at night?

November 8th, 2009 | by admin |

I am landing in Mumbai at 21.05 and am hoping to get an overnight train leaving from Mumbai CST at 23.00, but not sure if this is allowing enough time for travelling across the city, customs etc. Can anyone help me?

Thanks!

No. Thats not enough time. Travel time by cab will take you maximum 45minutes since you are opposite the rush. But you might get delayed with getting your baggage, checking for swine flu and checking out. You need at least 4 hours for this on the safer side.

I am travelling to Mumbai very often

You are definitely short on time front. You never know what could go wrong, whatever be the time of the day and particularly when it includes clearance from customs etc.

    What u can do is:
Call 4422 4422 for MeruCabs. It is a private taxi / cab service. Nice cool cabs, good and timely service and no cheating on fare front are USPs. It is safer option for you, too.

You may need about atleast 50 minutes or more at such late hours traffic is not much of a hassle. Just confirm whether the train you wish to be on, stops at Dadar station? If it is then you will hardly need 20 – 25 minutes or so. This will be better for you.

It will take minimum 1 hour travel by taxi from International Airport to CST if there is not much traffic. If you land at Mumbai at 2105 hours, it should take you atleast half an hour to get the immigration and customs cleared, if you do not have check-in baggage. If you have check-in baggage, it will be further delayed as you can go for customs clearance onl.y after clearing your baggage. Hence there is every possibility that you may miss the train. It will be better if you board the train from Dadar as it will take less time to reach Dadar as compared to CST
