How is the music scene in Mumbai?
December 28th, 2009 | by admin |So, I’m in the advanced stages of planning an anthropological research project on the music scene in Mumbai, and I was just wondering if this would be the best location. Would another city in India be a better bet? I’ve heard that Hyderabad has a lot of live music, but I haven’t really been able to get any more information on that.
what type of music are u looking at?
mood indigo started today in IIT bombay. that is like the best music fest in probably all of asia. there is a lot of natya sangeet, classical, lavani, abhang etc happening in bombay and pune.
hyderabad has qwwalli and stuff like that.
bangalore has all these new bands coming up that play fusion, rock etc
dehli is known as the rock capital of india and also there is a lot of sufi music in that area.
look up the baul, you might find them interesting too.
