There was a news article about Men on the trains in New York City “feeling up” American women in the crowded trains, so it is a problem here. They even put “Decoy” policewomen on the trains to catch real serious offenders.

    The problem is…. …
The problem is….people have been behaving like this on trains in Mumbai for soooo many years now…its practically impossible to put in a social sense of order. They simply want to commute like this and create chaos. Any attempt to bring order or some rules means some express their anger or gangs travelling together protest. Noone wants to miss their train and noone wants to wait. People have accustomed themselves to this hardship..changing it now would throw their schedules of course.

    The ladies can ride …
The ladies can ride in any cars. The men are not allowed to ride in the ladies cars.

The reason I was given that the ladies should not ride in the other cars is that there are a lot of frustrated men in India and since the cars are so crowded, its easy for certain men to take advantage of the forced physical contact.

Of course its the ladies choice which car they ride in, its just much more comfortable in the ladies only cars.
