What industries/sectors are growing or remaining stable during the recession?
For example, I can imagine that many middle class families are limiting certain "luxury items" such as going out to fancy restaurants and gourmet coffee shops. So, hence you will see a growth in the home cooking industry (grocery, cook books, etc).
What other industries do you see a growth during the recession?
You will see a rise in demand for inferior goods like Ramon noodles, and spam when you are in a recession, I have also noticed that solar companies are expanding during these trying times. I hope this helps.
You don’t really see growth, its a contraction and everyone (including businesses) shrivel up and try to save money. Commodities, home necessities and cigarette manufacturers use to stay relatively stable. Companies like Procter and Gamble and Johnson and Johnson are doing fine because people still need to buy shampoo and soap.
