the last report i had to get was in 2000 and is said the aftermarket parts buisness was worth 80 billion daollars in the USA and it grows by 15 to 30% a year. So i would put it at around 115 billion in the usa last year

It is worth a lot. Places like Best Buy and Circuit City make nearly double the cost of all the items they sell in those departments. Most local places won't charge as much, but the bigger places have better warranty programs and their service is backed by the entire chain instead of one store. It's probably an easy business to start up and be involved in, but competing with the Big Dogs won't be easy.

I would say its allot!! Best Buy has 800 stores circuit city is close there is custom shop in any descent size town.
