Where can I find patterns for a knitting loom using Plarn?

October 18th, 2009 | by admin |

Im looking for how to make a "hat" and a "bag" really. But if there is anything else I would be interested in it too.

If your not familiar with plarn. Its yarn made from cut up plastic bags. I found out about it recently and have been wanting to do something with it. I can’t find much myself. It can be crotchet, but I have trouble crocheting. My hands hurt trying to hold the hook and plarn. And then I found out about the knitting looms. Haven’t seen one in years and it looked like fun too. So I thought I use plarn with it, if possible.

I also like to know what size loom I need to make a hat too?

Thank you for your help.

In your search engine box, type in the words ‘knit loom patterns’.

I just did and there are 102,000 pages that you can work through at your leisure to find something that may work for you.

There are a number of different loom types. I’m not sure if your plastic bags will work, but that may depend on the type of loom.

I would suggest you also do a search for ‘knit loom groups’ – my results show there are around 200,000 of them and includes forums. Look through a couple of those and maybe even join a couple if they appeal – they are all willing to give help if you need any and may have other suggestions that you could use with your hand problems.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Plarn can be used on any knitted loom project. I just going to http://www.provocraft.com and choose your favorite project. It’s a great beginner site.
