As the British industries developed, at the same time Company had a firm grip in India.Import of raw materials increased while import of finished goods declined.Finished goods imported to England were made with the help of hand loom industries.
British industrialists wanted government to impose duty on imported goods from India.Govt imposed. This led to the decline of imports of finished goods rom India.
Britishers used East India Company to supply their good.Their goods were cheaper and attractive.
As a result of it, many Indian Industries closed.Thousand of workers became jobless.
