Achieving Food Safety Certification
February 4th, 2010 | by admin |In order to achieve ISO 22000 food safety certification an organization needs to ensure that food safety hazards are identified, evaluated and controlled so that they do not, directly or indirectly, harm the consumer.
ISO 22000 requires an organisation to evaluate the food safety management system at regular intervals to ensure that the system reflects its activities and considers the latest food safety information.
There are nearly specific references throughout the standard where it prescribes that the food safety management system will need to have documents in order to meet the ISO 22000 standard. The extent of documentation required to achieve food safety certification will differ from one organization to another depending on the size and complexity of the operation and the competence of personnel.
